Funded Nursing Care Confusion

NHS-funded Nursing Care (FNC) is an area which research from Which? has shown is potentially creating problems with care fees.

The benefit is paid directly to the care home by the NHS, so if the resident is self-funding their care, check with the care home that the fee it is quoting includes nursing costs or not.

Depending on the individual nursing home, some will quote their weekly fees having already deducted the FNC amount, whilst others will quote having not deducted it. This can lead to potential confusion about what the final weekly cost will be.
