Caring for Carers

In its latest State of Caring Report, Care UK found that:

  • 1 in 8 UK adults or around 6.5 million people are providing unpaid care to an older relative or friend

  • Carers allowance is £278.80 per month for a minimum 35 hours work per week, while, carers save the taxpayer £135 billion per year or £19,336 per carer.

  • Over half of carers (53%) feel anxious or stressed about their finances.
