Care Homes for Older People

The latest Laing Buisson’s Care Homes for Older People UK Market Report offers a complete overview of the accommodation and care options open to older people in the UK.

The report shows that

  • The UK market has a value of £19.6 billion as at December 2022 which is equivalent to about 0.75% of GDP.

  • With the uncertainty of social care reforms in an era of high interest rates, private sector investor appetite may decrease. This could cause care home modernisation to come to a halt and have a detrimental impact on care home residents and their families.

  • Staffing is the number one problem for care homes.
