65,000 waiting at least six months for assessment

The latest survey on the care sector from the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) has found that:

  • 506,131 people were waiting for an assessment, care package, direct payment or review at the end of February 2022, up 28% over the quarter

  • 64,772 people had been waiting at least six months for an assessment as of February 2022.

Data is based on responses from 94 local authorities.
