12 Week Disregard

The value of your interest in a property can be disregarded in the financial assessment for the first 12-weeks if your other assets are below £23,250.

The disregard applies from the day you first become a permanent care home resident and is designed to give you time to decide how to best use your property to pay care fees.

Care Aware can provide more help and information on this important disregard and can help you negotiate the maze that is the care funding system.
